Poly(ethyl vinyl ether) (PVE 68), CAS: 25104-37-4

Poly(ethyl vinyl ether) (PVE, CAS 25104-37-4) is a synthetic polymer-based lubricant base oil produced by cationic polymerization of ethyl vinyl ether. It combines excellent viscosity-temperature behaviour, low pour point and good compatibility with refrigerants and additives, making it a base stock for compressor oils, refrigeration oils, hydraulic fluids and specialty lubricants. Viscosity grades (e.g. ISO VG 32, 46, 68 at 40 °C) can be customised to customer requirements.

Custom Viscosity

PVE base oil can be customised to target kinematic viscosities at 40 °C (e.g. ISO VG 32, 46, 68 and other grades) by controlling molecular weight in the polymerization step. Please contact us with your required viscosity grade and application.

Applications

  • Synthetic lubricant base oil – compressor oils, refrigeration oils and vacuum pump oils.
  • Hydraulic and gear oil base stock with enhanced viscosity-temperature behaviour.
  • Additive carrier oil and specialty lubricant component.

Storage and Packaging

Store in sealed drums in a cool, dry, ventilated area, away from ignition sources. Standard packaging: 200 kg steel drums or 1000 kg IBC tote.

FAQ

What viscosity grades are available? ISO VG 32, 46 and 68 are standard; other viscosities can be customised on request.
