Accelerator DCBS, CAS: 4979-32-2

Accelerator DCBS, CAS 4979-32-2 (N,N-dicyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolesulfenamide), is a sulfenamide (delayed-action) rubber accelerator. Its two cyclohexyl groups give exceptionally long scorch safety, which makes it the accelerator of choice for thick sections and large articles where heat build-up during cure is slow. PolyBlueChem supplies it to the specification below with per-batch COA and SDS.

Specifications

Basic Information

CAS number 4979-32-2
Synonyms Accelerator DCBS; N,N-dicyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolesulfenamide; N,N-dicyclohexylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide
Molecular formula C19H26N2S2
Molecular weight 346.6 g/mol
Type Sulfenamide accelerator (delayed action / long scorch)

Applications

  • Thick rubber sections – large tyres, solid tyres, thick mouldings.
  • Technical rubber goods – heavy belting, hoses and large industrial parts.
  • Compounds needing long scorch safety – high-temperature processing or slow cures.
  • NR, SBR, BR and blends – activated with zinc oxide and stearic acid.

DCBS is the most delayed of the common sulfenamide accelerators: it protects against premature cure (scorch) during processing and storage, then cures efficiently once the temperature is reached – important for thick, slow-heating parts.

Packaging and documentation

  • 25 kg PP/PE bags or fibre drums; keep sealed, cool and dry.
  • Per-batch certificate of analysis (COA) and safety data sheet (SDS).
