Acryloylmorpholine (also called ACMO or 4-acryloylmorpholine), CAS 5117-12-4, is a low-viscosity, water-soluble acrylate monomer. It is used mainly as a reactive diluent / monomer in UV- and electron-beam-curable coatings, inks and adhesives, and in polymer systems for water treatment and oilfield applications. PolyBlueChem supplies ACMO to the specification below with per-batch COA and SDS.
Specifications
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Purity (content) | 98% min |
| Colour | 50 APHA max |
| Viscosity (25 °C) | 9 – 15 mPa·s |
| Inhibitor (additive) | 1000 ± 100 ppm |
| Density | 1.118 – 1.122 g/cm3 |
| Flash point | 126.5 °C |
| Boiling point | 158 °C |
| Melting point | -8 °C |
| Hygroscopicity | 1.8 g/100 g (at 20 °C, 60% RH) |
The low colour (50 APHA max) and controlled inhibitor level (1000 ± 100 ppm) are important for radical-cure systems, where colour and premature polymerisation must be controlled. The low viscosity (9 – 15 mPa·s) makes ACMO an effective reactive diluent. A specification sheet and a certificate of analysis (COA) for each batch are available on request.

Applications
- UV / EB-curable coatings – a reactive diluent that lowers viscosity and participates in curing.
- UV inks and adhesives – reactive diluent/monomer in radiation-curable ink and adhesive systems.
- Water-soluble polymer systems – a monomer for water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers.
- Oilfield and water treatment – a comonomer in polymers used for scale control, flocculation and drilling-fluid applications.
- Surface and functional materials – a monomer for grafting and surface modification.
Packaging and storage
- 200 kg drums or IBCs (or as agreed); keep sealed.
- Per-batch certificate of analysis (COA) and safety data sheet (SDS).
- Store cool, dry and out of direct sunlight; the product contains an inhibitor to prevent premature polymerisation – keep it away from heat, light and initiators.
