Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT), CAS: 128-37-0

Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), CAS 128-37-0 (2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol, also known as Antioxidant 264), is a low-molecular-weight hindered phenolic antioxidant. It is widely used to protect rubber, plastics, oils and other organic materials against heat and oxygen ageing, and is valued for its high purity and low ash. PolyBlueChem supplies BHT to the specification below with per-batch COA and SDS.

Specifications

Parameter Specification
Appearance White crystalline powder
Initial melting point 69 – 70 °C
Free phenol 0.02% max
Residue on ignition 0.005% max
Moisture 0.05% max
