β-Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, reduced form, disodium salt (NADH-Na2, CAS 606-68-8) is the reduced coenzyme form of NAD and the principal carrier of reducing equivalents in enzymatic redox reactions. PolyBlueChem supplies NADH disodium salt as a high-purity powder, assay ≥98%, for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) reagent manufacturing, biocatalysis and life-science research, with per-batch COA and SDS.

Salt form and grade selection
| Form | CAS | When it is the right choice |
|---|---|---|
| NADH disodium salt (this product) | 606-68-8 | Standard choice for enzyme-based assays and biocatalysis; highest water solubility, pH-neutral in solution |
| NADH free acid | – | Only where sodium must be excluded from the reaction system; lower solubility, slower dissolution |
| NAD (oxidised) | 53-84-9 | When the assay measures NADH formation and the oxidised form is the substrate |
| NADPH tetrasodium salt | 2646-71-1 | When the coupled enzyme is NADP(H)-specific (e.g. glutathione reductase, P450 systems) |

Applications
- In vitro diagnostic reagents – the co-substrate in enzyme-coupled IFCC methods (ALT, AST, LDH, GLDH, γ-GT and similar), where the decrease in absorbance at 340 nm is proportional to analyte concentration.
- Biocatalysis – reducing equivalent for ketoreductases (KRED), alcohol dehydrogenases and ene-reductases; usually supplied with an NADH regeneration system (glucose/glucose dehydrogenase, formate/formate dehydrogenase or isopropanol/ADH).
- Research – NAD+ metabolism, mitochondrial function and redox biochemistry studies.
NADH is a biochemical reagent, not a finished drug or food ingredient. It is not offered for therapeutic or supplement claims.
Handling, storage and documentation
- Moisture and oxygen sensitive – weigh quickly, keep containers sealed, and prepare solutions freshly. Aqueous NADH oxidises to NAD+, faster at acidic pH and under light.
- Recommended solution practice: dissolve in phosphate or Tris buffer at pH 7.0-8.0 and keep on ice; do not autoclave.
- Per-batch COA and SDS supplied; an assay method statement and third-party testing are available on request.
- Packaging: small-pack foil/bottle for reagent use, bulk pack for manufacturing; quantities and packaging are agreed against the required grade.
