β-Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, reduced form, tetrasodium salt (NADPH-Na4, CAS 2646-71-1) is the reduced coenzyme of the phosphorylated pyridine nucleotide series and the reducing agent in NADPH-dependent enzyme reactions. PolyBlueChem supplies NADPH tetrasodium salt as a powder, assay ≥95%, for biocatalysis, enzymatic synthesis and research use, with per-batch COA and SDS.

Tetrasodium salt or free acid?
| Form | CAS | Formula / MW | Practical difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| NADPH tetrasodium salt (this product) | 2646-71-1 | C21H26N7Na4O17P3 / 833.3 | Best water solubility and fastest dissolution; the usual form for direct dosing into a reaction. Four sodium per mole – check the ionic strength of the final mix. |
| NADPH free acid | 53-57-6 | C21H30N7O17P3 / 745.4 | No sodium load, but slower to dissolve and usually needs pH adjustment before use. |
The two forms are not interchangeable on a weight basis: 833.3 g of tetrasodium salt carries the same coenzyme as 745.4 g of free acid. Convert every protocol in molar terms.

Applications
- Biocatalysis – reducing agent for NADPH-dependent enzymes: P450 monooxygenases, ketoreductases, glutathione reductase, dihydrofolate reductase and fatty-acid synthase systems; normally used with a regeneration system rather than stoichiometrically in bulk.
- Enzymatic synthesis – cell-free reduction steps where NADPH recycling is the cost driver.
- Research – oxidative stress, glutathione metabolism and redox signalling studies.
Supplied as a biochemical reagent; not offered for therapeutic or supplement claims.
Handling, storage and documentation
- NADPH oxidises readily in air and in light, especially in acidic solution – work quickly, keep solutions on ice, and use them the same day.
- Aliquot the bulk pack to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
- Per-batch COA and SDS supplied; assay method statement and third-party testing available on request.
- Packaging: laboratory packs through to bulk quantities, agreed against your process.
